Wired News jacks into one of my favorite childhood TV memories with this headline: "Here, Fishy, Fishy, Fishy".

For the truly deprived, this is from a very old Sesame Street segment where Bert and Ernie go fishing, and Ernie decides to catch fish by calling them out of the water just that way. The fish joyfully fling themselves from the water into the boat. My mother recalls that all of us couldn't get enough of this sketch, laughing almost uncontrollably every time Ernie would summon another fish.

Ouch.

An 81-year-old man in Florida was perhaps using this technique when a stingray leapt from the water into his boat, and stabbed him in the chest.

Sadly, the stingray could not be questioned, as it was apparently unable to leap back into the water.

It seems the grand battle between man and ray has begun. Fetch my harpoon.
