We all like to be able to shed some light on games we feel are classics but didn't get the attention they deserved. Sometimes those games become cult classics, and like the Beyond Good & Evil sequel recently announced, the franchise gets a second chance because of word-of-mouth popularity and critical acclaim even if the original title sold poorly.

Brad Gallaway over at GameCritics.com has assembled a top ten list that I haven't seen all that often -- a top ten list of Xbox titles that does not include any cross-platform games. For a system that went toe-to-toe with the sales juggernaut that was the PS2 the titles listed really show a lot of quality work was done on the Xbox in the face of Sony's dominance of that generation.

Maybe some of these are playable on a hard-drive equipped Xbox 360, or maybe you're among the few who have clung to your Xbox to save your pennies until Microsoft finally fixes its red ring of death problem on their flagship console. Either way, give the list a look and let us know which ones you've played. You just might find something you always wanted to hunt down in the bargain bin but just keep forgetting to.
