Hide gallery link from non-authenticated users.
2007-02-27: No longer an issue.
Integrate gallery into Drupal.
2006-11-28: Custom copy of Gallery installed. Still testing image referencing and integration.
2006-12-01: Gallery activated, and select users given the ability to upload images. See the "gallery" link on the left:
Make a scaled-back copy of your original photo or image to the largest size you need it in the album. This should save us some space in the long term.
- Log into farbot.com.
- Click the gallery link at left.
- Navigate down to the album you want to drop the photo into.
- To make a new sub-album, click the "Edit" link in the bottom left of the page.
- Use the menu to Add Sub-Album or Add Item to the current album. Use a short filename for the album folder, and a short name for it to have in the album.
- Click Back To Album, under Navigation, once you add the given image(s).
- You can always use the links at the top to navigate back to the album you want if you get lost.
- Browse to the image size you want to embed in your article, then right-click it. In Firefox, select Copy Image Location.
- Paste the image link into Notepad or another text editor, and remove the g2_session information after the file name.
- Go to your article and add the image in. Here's a tutorial on wrapping text around images that I found useful.
If you want it between paragraphs, say a larger size of that image, you can use a plain bbcode IMG tag.
Put family photos gallery on its own subdomain.
2006-11-28: Done. It now lives at familyphotos.farbot.com.
Standalone Gallery is broken:
2006-10-31: Fixed. I had exhaustive backups, but still had a very hard time fixing it after an aborted attempt to integrate it into the CMS. This is a hint that my backup strategy is missing something critical.
