PS3: Half-Life 2: The Orange Box $40 at Target stores.

CAGNot that I want to sing the praises of a game that Valve farmed out to an unnamed EA development house from a company whose major figurehead executive not only came from Microsoft but also badmouthed the development of the PS3 version of this game incessantly leading up to its release, but a deal is a deal. Half-Life 2: The Orange Box is available from Target stores this week for USD 39.99. That's a big price cut from the usual MSRP of USD 59.99, but buyer beware. No patch to fix the considerable performance issues in the game has been created, despite rumors that one is coming.

Frankly we might see a patch for Lair's control scheme sooner than one for HL2:TOB on PS3.

Patch In The Works

It looks like a patch is actually happening for this game on the PS3 after all and may be released in March 2008. What it will and won't include is an open question, and maybe it's enough to get me to take it for a spin. If I finish Half-Life 2 first.

Seen on PSU.
