And nobody logs in...

I had some time to play GTA IV last night online on my PS3 and marvelled at the fact that it took a good 2 or 3 minutes for people to join up with games of Team Mafiya Work, Team Turf War, and Team Car Jack City I started hosting. What's going on here? This is one of the most fun games on the system. These team-based modes let you do more than just fill other people full of lead, and very few people seemed to be playing them. Seriously, people, do you not understand how great it is to have GTA with online play -- great online play in fact -- after five PS2 versions that were offline-only affairs?

I'm reminded of the old saying: If a tree falls in the forest and nobody hears it, did it really make a sound? If developers go the extra mile with exceptional online play and nobody plays together online, does it really have online play?
