Metal Gear SingStar 4

mgs4_oldsnake_profileSome of my coworkers have a PlayStation 2, some of them now have a Wii, but I'm pretty much the lone PS3 gamer around the office. Some of them have held off because of price, but as always a title they desire can overcome that resistance. One coworker of mine -- a gamer mom with a boy under 2 -- in recent months has fallen in love with SingStar with her husband on her PS2, so much so that she has bought some of the SingStar games just for one song. I've been handing over tasty news morsels about the newest SingStar for PS3, its song list, and the online store updates coming for it, helping her agree to "let" her husband buy a PS3 for Father's Day.

It turns out her husband knew what he was doing. He ordered video cables for it ahead of time, and was after an 80GB unit so he can play some PS2 games on it, too. His wife is happy with the larger hard drive since she has her eye on the SingStar Store. When I asked which one he had picked up, I was surprised to hear they'd gotten an MGS4 pack.

I have no idea if her husband has ever played a Metal Gear Solid game, but with today's release of the free MGS4 Database on the Playstation Store to bring him up to speed with the story -- while avoiding spoilers no less -- I think he'll do just fine.
