While no console will be getting Diablo III (thanks PSU), Ascaron has announced that in addition to the PC and Xbox 360 versions of Sacred 2 coming out this fall there will be a PS3 version appearing simultaneously. High on the list of features is something I felt Marvel Ultimate Alliance needed back when I reviewed it on PS2, a console that had been home to some great dungeon crawlers. Here's what PSU had to say:
The PS3 release will incorporate enhanced visuals, 5.1 Channel Dolby Surround Sound, in addition to drop-in cooperative play functionality and other online multiplayer components via the Internet.
The game will also support a two player split screen mode, allowing another player to join in on the action by simply pressing the start button. Furthermore, gamers can save their favourite characters, allowing you to utilize them in any game mode you wish and rack up crucial experience points and loot.
That's right, the really nice feature here is to be able to pull your character out of your saved game and play online, then drop back into your saved game offline with the loot and goodies you got while online. Online drop-in and drop-out multiplayer would be very nice, but I'll be happy if they can pull off their first PS3 online and offline game well enough to avoid glitches and lag.
Seen on PlayStation Universe.
