The Stor3d column used to run weekly to talk about new content dropped on consumers using the PS3's PlayStation Store, but today's resurrection of the column is just to talk about a sale going on right now. Sony has announced that five of the Store's current offerings are just $4.99 from now until the 31st of July, down from their full price of $9.99. The five games are:
- PAIN
- PixelJunk Monsters
- High Velocity Bowling
- High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition
- Rocketmen Axis of Evil
I personally found the Rocketmen game so awful that I wouldn't even consider it at five bucks, but the other four are likely purchases for me. I'm quite curious about PAIN after hearing numerous folks enjoying it so much and being curious about just how crazy it must be to grab a mime from midair and smash them through a window. PixelJunk Monsters has lots of positive buzz and a pretty enjoyable demo. High Velocity Bowling hasn't lit a fire for anyone as far as I can tell, but bowling should be good, family-friendly fare. Lastly, the Poker game is interesting to me for quite a few reasons: first, I don't play poker at all so I could use it to learn; second it's playable online; third all of its expansions, including new poker game types, have been free; fourth it's also playable using Remote Play on your PSP if you so desire; and fifth it supports the PlayStation Eye. That's a lot of features for a five dollar card game!
So head on over to the PlayStation Store and take your pick.
