A Little Taste Of Eden

applePixelJunk Eden for the PlayStation 3 went from a "What the? Don't they know this thing can do 3D?" game to something whose demo, released last week on the PlayStation Store, pleasantly surprised me with its simple but stylized visuals and soothing music. It's really that good. Set aside 30 to 45 minutes and go play it. Wait not yet! I'm not done! Whew.

This week's GamersWithJobs podcast 95 has everyone in agreement that the game is a must-buy for all of them. While it does make it extremely obvious with its black background that my TV has that strobing problem I wrote about a while back, I learned to ignore the contrast problems unique to my set and jump, grip, swing, and pollinate my way to relaxing garden bliss. Where was I?

Oh yes so PixelJunk Eden goes on sale tomorrow, probably at ten bucks, and tomorrow is also the last day you can pick up PixelJunk Monsters for five bucks while it's on sale. Eden will have Trophies out of the box -- the second PS3 title to have them -- and supports three people on the same console hopping, swinging, and spinning together.

One thing that's come to me in the couple of days since I last played it is that this game doesn't need a second analog stick work. It would be cool to find this on the PSP someday, much more so than something I've only glanced at, the very-much-a-two-stick-shooter-I-love Super Stardust port coming to the handheld.
