Play your PS2 SingStar Songs on PS3

A coworker of mine signed on with her husband's desire to pick up a PS3 earlier this summer primarily because SingStar PS3 was coming out. She'd bought maybe four or five SingStar games on the PS2 up until then and, once they had Sony's big black machine, she started happily picking and choosing from the online store with her PS3 version of SingStar.

I've been blindsided by the news that SingStar will get a future update to give it the ability to read songs off of the PS2 versions of the game. This is great news for gamers who already have the PS2 SingStar games and gives them a clear upgrade path if they haven't picked up the PS3 version yet, and it's also a nice reward for those folks who've already made the jump.

Nice work Sony! You could've tried to price-gauge your loyal fans by charging them again for these songs, but you didn't.
