Take Me Down To Paradise City...Again?!

paradise_1080i_pic_4846Trophy Patch NOT Retroactive As Promised

When I heard nothing from Criterion about the Trophy patch for their stellar Burnout: Paradise for the longest time -- absolutely nothing through three different updates to the game including last week's bikes patch -- I knew something was wrong. I deliberately shied away from the game, patching it to keep it up to date but avoiding playing it entirely while I waited for the Trophy patch. I was convinced that at least some of the Trophies wouldn't be retroactive especially after they announced that feature where you had to upload your saved game to get a map of what you had left to unlock. If they had the data online already they wouldn't need us to upload our saved game -- a PS3 exclusive feature I might add. Turns out I was right. To get your Trophies with the patch that is already live today, you'll need to start all over again.

Criterion's original promise for the Trophies to be retroactive -- something I wrote about HERE a while back with considerable excitement -- is something they couldn't follow through on. Sorry, Criterion says now, we tried, but couldn't do it retroactively. So far that puts a small subset of Warhawk Trophies -- the ones related to rank alone -- as the only game to date to get Trophies patched in retroactively.

For those that haven't made the leap to Burnout Paradise you might want to pick it up by direct download on the PlayStation Store today at $29.99.
