Three Costumes And Level Pack

Did you preorder LittleBigPlanet? One of the lucky few who got into the beta? Think it's going to be a blast just to sticker the levels with your PlayStation Eye snapshots of you making faces? Did you order yours from Gamestop to get Kratos?

I preordered LittleBigPlanet at Gamestop today and walked out with a card bearing an XMB promotional code that will get me a Kratos costume when the game launches. Imagine my surprise when I read over on GamesBlog.UGO.com tonight that Gamestop has added TWO more costumes AND a level pack, all based on the God of War franchise.

I've called the store to see if the same code I got on the card will just add the other things in or not and the guy there hadn't heard about any new promotions yet and hadn't gotten anything new. My guess is that these will just be added to the downloads and I really hope the God of War level pack will give you themed items you can put into your own levels.

This kind of add-on DLC could be a goldmine for Sony if the game takes off. Sell packs of content licensed from third parties that end-users can put in their own LBP levels. There's a copyright system that can restrict what can be given away and what can't, so they can control propagation of the content by locking it so that, for example, I could build a level with something but can't stack it with something else as a reward for finishing the level.
