Grand Theft Auto IV gets its Trophy patch on October 27th, and while I will definitely download and apply it that day, I'm hoping I'll be able to get LittleBigPlanet that evening. If I can't get LBP until the following day, which is what my local game store predicts, then I'll be following the directions carefully to see what I have to erase in order to start earning the GTA4 Trophies. Replaying such a fantastic game from the start won't be so bad and will frankly let me enjoy more of the game now that my skills playing it have ramped up. Trophies are just the motivation I needed to unlock most aspects of the game.
Do you also have Mercenaries 2 on the back burner? The Trophy patch for that one landed yesterday in both Europe and the United States so you can fire that puppy up and replay it for some nice bronze, silver, and gold goodies as well.
Don't have either of them? Now's a good time to grab them from Circuit City here in the USA. They're both on sale for USD$45 until October 25th according to the Sunday flyer. Personally I'm in favor of waiting for Mercenaries 2 to get cheaper given its glitchy state. If they patched it up to clean up some of the problems I'd consider paying more, to be sure. That said I happily paid full price (well, I got a $10 gift card from Circuit City) for GTA4 when it was released so this price is a very good one for a game with strong offline and online play. Just don't start playing it until the Trophy patch hits.
Oh and to risk turning this into a love-fest for Circuit City, they were going to offer an unheard-of $15 gift card with the purchase of LittleBigPlanet this week but I don't know if that promotion will be offered when the game launches next week.
