Ascaron may not be a developer you think of when you think of savvy marketing but they've figured out how to keep my attention. Aside from filling a very large gap in this current generation of consoles -- a gap that the PlayStation 2-exclusive Champions of Norrath games nailed down so well last generation -- they're keeping the banner of online co-op fantasy-themed hack-and-slash held high even as they ride into bankruptcy. Both the 360 and PS3 versions of Sacred 2 are headed to retail this month while the PC version is doing better after getting patched up.
A new video promoting co-op is out and without knowing what platform it's showing off it's tough to know if they're pulling a fast one by showing off the no doubt higher resolutions of the PC product or if they're trying to flaunt a console version of the game. That's not really the point though, for this video. They just want us to remember that up to four players can have drop-in-drop-out hack-and-slash fun with their game.
Time will tell if it's stable enough. Let's see how the reviews go.
Check the video out over at ShackNews.
