If my friends list is any indication, LittleBigPlanet has some legs. With users whipping out level after level, some great, some not-so-great, some moderated out of existence by unhappy gamers or Sony itself, there's huge potential for the game to keep going and going and going.

If you've listened to Aeropodcast 57 with special-great-not-special-short-bus guest Julian "Rabbit" Murdoch you can hear how we all bemoaned Media Molecule's heavy-handed moderation tactics that have blotted out some pretty fun levels from the online portion of the game.

On Tuesday the LittleBigPlanet servers were still down, so I had the opportunity to enjoy some of the excellent create mode tutorials. Day 3 kicked off Wednesday night for me after I'd put the kids to bed and to my delight I found the servers were up, performance to be pretty good, and much fun was had by me! (Note: a new 1.03 patch for the game is now available and my experiences below are from the 1.02 version of the game.)

LittleBigPlanet 2 might have been on the drawing board earlier yesterday, but I'm sure that marker board has been wiped clean and schematics showing big server problems with LittleBigPlanet has been drawn in its place.

The Tokyo Game Show wrapped up earlier this month as a bit underwhelming for Sony. I did see something that made me point and ask "Wha?" It's a newly announced PSN game called Spelunker, which is actually going to be a remake of a beastly hard old arcade game. I don't quite know what the developer is going after, and I do think they need to pay closer attention to what's hitting the PS3 these days.

Why would I say that? Because the screen shot alone makes me think this game would be perfectly do-able in LittleBigPlanet at a cost of an additional zero dollars and zero cents. I'm just sayin.

The LittleBigPlanet servers are up now and you can now redeem your preorder bonus coupons. With luck the Astronaut download will be up on the PSN soon. I'm not able to reach my PS3 yet so I can't tell what's up.

Three Costumes And Level Pack

Did you preorder LittleBigPlanet? One of the lucky few who got into the beta? Think it's going to be a blast just to sticker the levels with your PlayStation Eye snapshots of you making faces? Did you order yours from Gamestop to get Kratos?

October promises to be a very big month for the PS3 with a bevy of potential cross-platform blockbusters, a couple of ports, and some possibly huge exclusive titles. So many of these games look so good that I'm suspecting I won't be the only one trying to make tough decisions about what games should be bought now and what should be picked up later. That said I'm going to give a fuller rundown than usual and I'll start out with the platform exclusives on the PS3. That includes the game featuring the guy here who just might end up becoming the console's mascot. And not to worry PSP fans, this month has a few nice treats coming our way as well, aside from the PSP-3000 refresh of the system itself.

I was shocked to find out that the ability to build LittleBigPlanet levels together online with your friends is going to come after launch of the game in it's first major update.
