Sucker Punch

Two Tiny InFamous Flaws

ps3_infamous_hub_logoI'm just a few hours into inFamous and I'm finding this to be an excellent game in one of my favorite genres. The environments are beautifully detailed. Cole's ability to cling and climb on anything make you feel like a gold-medal gymnast on a city-sized jungle gym. His ability to leap safely from great heights is exhilarating. So far, however, I have two minor quibbles with the game involving the early tutorials. Read more »

inFAMOUS Hub Offers Streaming Soundtrack

ps3_infamous_hub_logoA brand new inFAMOUS hub has launched at IGN and aside from being a snappy place to centralize some marketing efforts for Sucker Punch -- organizing screen shots, wallpapers, and the rather nice videos showing off the title to date -- it also offers a few things I haven't seen elsewhere. There's a teaser for an upcoming prequel graphic novel but the streaming soundtrack widget in the lower right corner is what I most enjoyed. It sounds really good and that could be a big bonus for this open world game. The music from the most recent "Power Trip" trailer is on there as well as track 8, "Silent Melody". It's nice to see the material used in marketing a game will hopefully show up in the title itself.

I really liked the Massive Attack instrumental trailer that made Uncharted look so good but unfortunately that music was nowhere to be found in that exceptional third person action game.

Head on over to IGN and give it a listen, and catch up on anything you've missed about inFAMOUS so far.

inFamous' Empire City Impresses

One of the key features of a sandbox game, especially a superpowered sandbox game, is what you can do in the city. Sucker Punch's PlayStation 3 exclusive title inFamous, coming in late May, has already shown plenty of video of combat, which when pieced together looks rather dynamic. This latest video shows off the many faces of Empire City and how the main character Cole can navigate through it. Enough is shown to get me even more excited about this title from the developer behind Sly Cooper -- another game where climbing and movement through varied 3D environments was a hallmark of a game.
